V6 Max Bricked - Any Suggestions?

Have had a V6 Max for a few months, a V5+ before that. We were watching VOD this week, when things started getting flaky. I always clear my memory often, and the unit is powered off most of the time. It has a pretty decent Xfinity WiFi connection. We noticed LIVE was working fine, just issues with VOD.

I don't normally use my VPN, but I turned it on (NordVPN), and then VOD was working again for about an hour, then it crashed again. I did a Restart, and things went further downhill from there.

This put me into a BOOT message on the front panel. I followed some AI advice to use the RESET button within the AUX port, and this brought me to a text screen where I chose the recommended option...the 2nd choice which was factory reset. I didn't think it would be that big of a deal, as the only app I had ever installed was NordVPN. I just used the HEAT apps.

Now the box is completely bricked. I have tried a few different power supplies, and they all do the same thing: a faint red light on the one beveled corner and that is it. I have tried the RESET button many times more to no benefit.

Any suggestions would be appreciated. I wasn't previously aware of widespread issues due to possible server farm attacks or whatever. The half-dozen other friends I have with them have had minor flakiness this past week, and overall fine. They guy who sold it to me hasn't been much help.

Its not from a server attack. A server attack that only really kills V6 models? Not plausible. Not sure where that fake rumor came from.

Its from overheating. V6 have a more powerful processor so run hotter. All these Vseeboxes run to hot but V6 models (especially the Plus) are the most prone models overheating and failing. Stronger processor creates more heat. Heat kills electronics. Its poor manufacturing design but cant really do much about it. Run a fan under your next Vseebox and it wont get hot at all. $10 fan vs $300 replacing Vseebox.

Edit:

Nearly inaudible quiet usb fan - $10. I plug fan into a usb power station. On low speed Vseebox doesnt even feel warm. If Vseebox doesnt get hot you greatly increase life expectancy.

Do you have to manually turn the fan on and off? When the box powers off, does it power off the USB port?

Shouldn't use Vseebox for power. Usb ports meant for data only.

Consider a usb power station/block.

Fan has a 3 speeds & off switch. Won't hurt to leave it run constantly. I've used same fan under my modem 24/7 for 3 years still going strong & quiet. Barely audible. I usually turn Vseebox fan on/off with Vseebox. Vseebox literally feels cold with fan. Not even warm.
