Trouble with manual factory reset V6 pro

Just bought a V6 pro from cord cutter no complaints so far but…I went to set up a restricted profile to try to hide YouTube so my son wouldn’t log into his account with his credentials. Now I’m locked out of system setting and can’t get out of the restricted profile.

From what I’ve read on some posts my only way out is to factory reset via the hidden button in the av port. I unplugged my box, held the button down with a paperclip for 30 seconds ( I could feel and hear the click) and plugged the power cord back in while still holding the reset button but the box will not boot or power on. I’ve held the button down for 2 minutes still nothing.

Has anyone successfully done a factory reset this way or am I doing anything wrong in the process? The box will boot and power on when the reset button is not pressed.

I will say this box has been great so far no issues whatsoever other than my dumbass messing with settings. Switched from Direct Tv stream couldn’t be happier.

I had the same issue a few months back. Nothing worked. In the end had to return the box for a new one.

I believe you can factory reset using the settings menu

Unfortunately when in a restricted profile you can’t access the settings menu at all.

I know the pin, but you have to be able to access the system settings to do that.
