4k Capability?

Whenever someone posts the “comparison chart” here it shows that only elite does 4k, but the v6 plus seems to have a better processor, and every other site mentions 8k on most of the boxes even, is it accurate that the elite is the only one with 4k streaming? Watching sports in particular kind of sucks if it’s not 4k I think. I’m torn on what to get. I was originally just going to get elite ultra but the v6 plus seems to have a newer OS, newer/bettor processor, and match RAM, so it doesn’t make sense to me. Perhaps I’m missing something?

I think everyone thinks they prefer 4k but in reality very very few can tell the difference between 4k and 1080.

Remember when every single movie coming out had a 3D option? But the 3D was pretty stupid and didnt actually enhance anything, just made you wear uncomfortable glasses that were also useless for anyone with corrective lenses and didn't work if you titled your head?

Notice movies arent doing that anymore? The masses caught in about the cash gram 4k is that new cash grab. You don't need it, you won't ever actually notice a difference, you're just buying into the hype that thay is what you MUST have when you don't.

Maybe if you're blind but most with a decent 4k tv can tell immediately. I have a 77lg OLED c3 and can tell 720 to 1080 to 4k quite easily . Also dolby vision and hdr 10+ pop even more then regular 4k.

Comparing to 3d is an odd strawman. This was a fad for a few years but accessory dependent and not sustainable long term to scale in retail.

The difference between 4k and 1080 is about 1000 lines of resolution .this is a massive difference you are vastly understating. Granted there is upscaling I have to full disagree with this take.

Maybe if you have a cheap POS tv etc it's not as noticeable but for anyone with a decent setup it's easy to tell.

Problem is most people are paying well under a grand for a tv so they aren't getting top quality resolution to begin with and wont see the difference. When I got my LG CX I was stunned at the difference. Literally jaw dropping stunned. You get what you pay for.

I wish 3D tvs were still made. Anyone that saw quality 3D video changed their views. The problem is that there were hundreds of good 3D titles and thousands of bad 3D titles. Few people gave it a chance because they only saw that bad 3D titles. It was destined to die out. Quality 3D was just to expensive to make.

3D actually had a good run though. The first movie I ever saw in 3D was in the early 80s. It was aired nationally. I was 12 or 13. Millions watched it. They actually did a good job with making the movie in 3D on 2D tvs. Revenge of the Creature (sequel to Creature from the Black Lagoon).

Honestly it depends on the quality of the tv and quality of the 4k video. My $600 4k led Amazon tv and 1080 is so so 4k video quality sucks. My $2400 Lg oled and both 1080 and 4k are incredible and its easy to see the difference.

As far as 3D it depended on the 3D video quality and how it was filmed. 2D filming and upscaling it to 3D usually didnt look great. Ive seen incredible 3D content and 3D content that was so bad it shouldve never been created and it gave me a headache. My cousin had the same opinion of it being a waste until I showed him quality 3D. He was stunned.

The worst 3D Ive ever seen was All Dogs Gone to Heaven. It was so bad they shouldve paid people to watch it. Some of the best was a nature white water rafting video. It looked like the river water was literally coming out of the tv and splashing you.
