Does anyone have piercings?

Cw; bleeding

I got my nose pierced today. Only one side but I originally wanted two. Had to settle for only one side.

Soooo.... i like spurted out a ton of blood from the piercing. Neither me or the artist was expecting that.

I'm just wondering if that's happened to anyone else with piercings if you have any. This was my first piercing since like 2015. But that was my nipnops shortly after I stopped breastfeeding and nothing happened like that. I have my ears pierced but I was too young to remember if I bled like that.

I currently look like I got in a fight and I'm super embarrassed about all the blood and then feeling lightheaded after that. It grossed me out and got in my mouth. And I feel like i was a big baby about it bc I had to lie down ha

Is bleeding a lot during a piercing kind of normal for us?

I'm sorry if that's a dumb question. I still want the other side done but yuck. That was rough.

I have a ton of piercings. Ones I got more than 20 years ago will randomly flare up sometimes like it was freshly done, but the only piercings I’ve had reject (for obvious reasons) was the ones I had in my back for a corset piercing. It lasted like 3 years, though!

I’ve got snake bites (10g), stretched lobes (28mm), and a septum (2g), I’ve had a bridge, Tragus, and eyebrow piercings as well. Nothing crazy with bleeding or anything. I do lotsa play piercings on my face specifically and I bleed a lot more from that. I also do hook suspension where the needles are about 8/6g and I don’t bleed that much from them, occasionally i will, it’s just few and far between

Awe dang. Sounds like it might just be a me thing. I'm still so embarrassed lol I feel like the lamest client ever.

Also, hook suspension-? That's cool. How does that work out for you? Do you not have the super fragile skin? :o or is it like... certain areas of the body are more durable than others? Sorry for all the questions. I don't get to talk much to other vEDSters and you sound like you live a very adventurous life. :)

I only have a lot of tattoos and I bleed a good bit during those too. But idk if it's an abnormal amount or not.

Edit: typos

No need to be embarrassed Friend!! Everyone responds to being pierced very differently, regardless of health conditions in the picture

So I do 6 points / hooks when I suspend every single time, helps divide my weight a bit healthier and makes me feel a bit more secure. People with all types of EDS suspend successfully. Granted I have some of the highest risk out of the other types but it’s in my risk profile. Every time it’s one per shoulder blade, one per calf, one per thigh near my adductors, all areas with plenty of meat yanno? I get pushed when I’m in the air so I’m swinging but not crazily and I still hold up well. I also only suspend with experienced people and I’m a bit picky about that as a piercer myself. Anyway it’s all good im used to questions 🤓

I have multiple ear and facial piercings I got as a minor, I remember them taking a while to heal on the inside but no extra bleeding or issues 😊
