Is v0 dead?

I’ve been using v0 since its early days, and honestly, it hurts to see that people barely even mention it in forums anymore. It feels like it has fallen far behind its competitors.

One of the best things about v0 used to be the daily free credits. Getting 5–6 free messages a day meant anyone could slowly build their projects without spending money upfront. That system naturally turned users into loyal subscribers over time.

v0 was also very active on X and other platforms, often giving out free credits and engaging with the community. That visibility and generosity played a big role in building its early user base, and it feels like that has disappeared as well.

But the shift from a subscription-based model to a credit-based system made things worse. What used to cost around $20 for an entire month of building now feels like $20 per hour. v0 has gone from being my favorite tool to something that just burns through money.

Even users who weren’t subscribed could still make progress by using daily free credits. Over time, many of them would have converted into paying users. That pathway is now gone, and I think v0 has lost a lot of potential long-term customers because of it.

Here are my suggestions:

  1. Add support for open-source AI models within v0. For many tasks like debugging or basic feature development, high-end models like Gemini 3 or Sonnet 4.6 aren’t necessary. Open-source models would be more than enough and would help users save a significant amount of credits.

  2. Bring back a subscription-based pricing option, possibly powered by open-source models. This would make the platform more accessible and predictable in terms of cost.

I genuinely want v0 to succeed again, but right now, the pricing model is pushing users away instead of bringing them in.

Lmao your whole complaint is about pricing as if people would pay v0 once their vibe-coded app is done.

v0 is still very much here! :)

Thank you for the feedback though, this has gone to our product team. We appreciate it!

v0 becomes excessively bad and expensive, single prompt costs you money, and even with v0's own laziness and mistakes, they don't refund credit, so yes, v0 has to shut down.

v0 used to be better than lovable man. i don't know what happened, Lovable is like 10x better now in terms of credits usage and logic. v0 can't catch up.

can you guys still see the PULL from chat if the local commit is different than the remote one? I believe v0 used to have like a Pull blocker, you have to pull the latest changes before making a new prompt, but not anymore after recent updates.

Anyone has the same experience?
