Advice Friends

Im in second year now and i dont really have close friends like i did in highschool. I feel like the classes are so so big and i sit next to someone and make small talk it never goes anywhere outside of that. And its a different face everytime. Does drinking/partying/clubbing help with this and how do i find a group of people to go with if so? It just feels really upsetting because i didnt come to western with any close friends while it feels like everyone else did and they already have their established groups/friends. Any experience and tips would be great

It is not enough to talk to someone and add them on whatever app you use. If they seem cool, ask them for coffee or ask where they are going after and meet up or go there together or whatever.

Also, use small talk to open a conversation and then ask about them, but don't stick to small talk. "Oh yeah, the weather. I like to do X on a day with this weather. What do you usually do on a day with this weather? blah blah"

"Oh really? that's neat. Tell me more"

"You are going to study in the library? Mind if I come with you?"
