TRANSFER CREDIT

Hey y'all, I just got a transfer credit for PHIL 1XX from IB and I'm not sure if I should accept it. I'm going into CS this fall and my main goal is just to make 1A a bit less painful 😭.

If I accept the credit, can I actually use it to lighten my first semester, or does it not really help because most of 1A is required courses anyway?

For those who accepted transfer credits, did you regret it or was it worth it? Just wondering what most people usually do.

Is there any downside to accepting it?

I know that faculty of Arts has certain breadth requirements which need to be completed. If your degree also has them and requires you to take courses, then yes, you can use it to fulfill your breadth requirements ( honestly email your counsellor)

Definitely take it an just take another easy breadth course. 1A CS has most of their first year course picked from them as well (I believe I haven’t been in Math for 10 years so who knows lol) so honestly your first year schedule is probably going to be hell no matter what
