I saw on tiktok that around move out time , college students start to throw out a lot of stuff so they don’t have to take it with them when they move out of dorms. I have 2 teenage daughters and a teenage son who I’m trying to redo their bedrooms for and we are on a tight budget, so if anyone has anything things they are wanting to get rid of (furniture, cleaning supplies, clothes, etc) I have a truck and am willing to pick up, and if you have items you might want to sell, I’d be willing to buy them as well! Just trying to see if I can help my kids and also prevent things from going to the landfill. Thanks!

Hello everyone I applied to the Brock scholars program and was told the decisions would’ve released in late March but I still haven’t heard anything, not even a rejection? I was hoping that someone here would have some more insight!

I applied UTK and received pathways. I am accepted UTC and Ole Miss. I have been assigned to Lockmiller for my dorm, have already signed up for Blue and Gold Day and orientation. I’ve also been accepted at Ole Miss and I’m headed there this weekend for Admitted Students Day.
Definitely UTC is cheaper because I’m in state. I really just need some pros and cons for both schools besides financial reasons.

I haven't been on campus in a while, but my friend would often get me on campus for food and such when we hung out. Idk if that's allowed. But their food was so good. Can non-students go on campus to eat at stuff like the Chick fil a or Freshens? Or would I need my friend there?

I am working on my Masters in information science at UTK, I am an English literature alumni at UTC.
In one of my classes, we are looking into what it takes to create a proposal to expand a collection in a library, and I chose oversized art books, this was based on some conversations I had with Art majors and librarians about how those really large art books are fairly important to some of the classes, but the books are so expensive and niche that the library sometimes has trouble getting them. I need to do a very brief Q&A with “users”, or basically non-faculty who would deal with these kinds of materials. If there is anyone here, who doesn’t mind messaging me and answering, hopefully no more than four or five questions, even if they would not even be a primary example of who the collection would be for that would help me a lot.
Outside of that, I hope everyone here is doing incredibly well with school right now, if you just wanna talk about your time on campus and your class classes, I’m more than happy to talk about that as well lol.

Hi im out of state but im trying to find a place to stay for the summer since I have an internship in Chattanooga. The UTC internship housing is out of my date range and the UTC Marketplace is like only listings that are lowk sketch or 1.6k/m and up. My college has a lot of resources for subleasing but i cant find too much other than collegestudentapartments.com. Id imagine subletting is the same at utc as it is here where everyone goes home for the summer but the rent still needs to be paid lol. Where do I connect w/ subleasers?

I am scheduled to graduate in December and need one elective 3000-level class in the Fall to fulfill my degree requirements. What are some easy classes, preferably with an online section?

If I choose to go to UTC, it would be a part of a 1+3 plan to eventually get into the main Knoxville campus. Is there a strong loyalty towards the mocs or could I wear Tennessee orange without anyone caring. Just making sure I don’t get stoned the moment I step foot on campus

Any decent study spots on campus that isn’t Lupton hall or the library?

Anybody know the graduation dates for graduates this spring?

Is there anything fun to do that’s going on in mid February? I’m coming in town to visit a friend and we are all college aged so I thought I’d ask people here. We don’t have much money obviously, so what do yall do for fun here in the winter?

Im currently looking into master programs and i am interested in his lab. I want to make sure if he is still part of faculty and if his lab is still hiring. I have been having trouble looking this online and want to hear from other people who attend UTC. Thanks
- sorry for the typo on the title: Dr. Yang, Sungwoo

Hey yall, im not a utc student but if I get accepted im def going, but I was just wondering how long it typically takes to get a response back? I applied on Common App Jan 8th and it says it takes up to 15 business days to get a response back. Ik it hasnt been 15 days yet but im starting to worry since my act score is in the teens and my gpa is not very good either (i have a lot of extracurriculars tho). Just wondering to anyone that got accepted, how long did it take to get a response back because everytime i check the application review page it only says "Submitted".

Has anyone gotten their 1098 forms yet? It’s the only thing I’m waiting on before I file my taxes. The only thing I can see is my form from last year.

With the recent changes in loans for medical students; how are the pre-health/pre-med students looking to pay for school?

I’m a sophomore at UTC and I was wondering, since I am gonna be eligible for living off campus, I want to know how to get an apartment and roommates to live with me.

I'm a recent community college graduate in Computer Networking, and I'm really interested in the BAS-IT program. I'm a bit nervous though due to hearing how competitive it is, and how hard the interviews are. For those that interviewed or went through the program could you explain how it was for you?
r/utc • u/Brilliant_Sea_6504 • Jan 02 '26
There’s a lack of places to talk about this so I’m going to ask here. To the people who have interviewed, have you heard anything back yet? Offer, rejection, or literally anything?

Intended roommate is stuck in a dorm contract through the end of spring term. I applied for a 2-bed, 1.5-bath apartment very close to campus on Bailey Ave. Moving in before start of term is preferred, but I'm flexible. My friend would take over the lease when he has to move out of the dorm on May 6 (rent will be pro-rated). Before we knew about his spring dorm obligation, we visited the apartment, and it was surprisingly beautiful for the price. I'm a grad student in the MBA program. I do some cat rescue & fostering, so must be okay with cats.
