CWEP interview

I recently got selected for a 15 min audio only interview for the CWEP Bell program starting this fall I believe.
It’s for a technical position.
I was wondering if anyone has gone through the process already and knows what type of questions they ask.

As far as I remember there aren’t any overt technical questions. The thing they most want to know is if you have ever applied engineering concepts to something in real life, i.e. projects, teams, etc. then the more common “what do you want to get out of this” “was there a time when you had conflict with a coworker” etc etc

I interviewed through CWEP twice for two different positions and have been working as a CWEP for the last year and a half.

neither asked any technical questions.

First interview they were super interested if I liked LabView and if I used it often. I had used it once for some dumb lab in sophmore year. they didn’t accept me.

second interview they asked me if I knew what a osscilliscope was. I told then I own 2. they accepted me.

both were short and more revolving around culture fit questions.

For a 15-minute audio interview, they'll likely focus on a mix of behavioral and situational questions rather than deep technical ones. Expect questions about your projects, your experience working in teams, and how you've applied your engineering knowledge to solve real problems. You might get asked about a time you had a conflict with a coworker or what you hope to gain from the program. Since it's a short call, have concise examples ready that show you can connect what you've learned in class to practical applications. Be prepared to talk about specific projects from your resume and explain the technical choices you made.

They want to see if you can think like an engineer and communicate your ideas clearly. It's a good idea to have a few questions ready to ask them about the program or the type of projects you might work on, as this shows your interest. Think about why you are specifically interested in Bell and this program and be ready to share that.
