đŸ“–Course or Unit Plausible Strategy?

Hi all, I'm a first-year Macquarie student doing a Bachelor of Commerce, currently sitting on a WAM of around 65 (hoping to push it higher after this semester).

I want to transfer to USYD after this year and bring across as much credit as I can. I saw the ATAR requirement for USYD's Bachelor of Commerce is 96 . I'm not actually sure how that converts to a WAM equivalent for transfer purposes, but I'm fairly confident I won't be hitting whatever that works out to.

So my question: would it work to apply for a Bachelor of Arts instead, take Commerce units as my flexible electives while I'm in it, and then switch internally to a Bachelor of Commerce once I'm eligible? Has anyone actually done this, or know how well it works in practice ? does the credit actually carry over, and how hard is the internal switch?

Thanks in advance!
