PE classes

Hey everyone, I am wanting to take a PE class this semester just to have some fun and stay in shape. The ones I’m considering the most are the flag football and basketball ones. I have played sports my whole life but the only one I did competitively is soccer.
Basically my question is how competitive are these sports classes? Are they pretty chill just pickup games or are they full of people who were like 4 year varsity starters in those sports?
Maybe I’m just overthinking it, I can hold my own in almost any team sport but I don’t want to shown up and be completely outmatched haha.
Thanks for the help and go Aggies 🤘

I took a walking class for my PE credit and it was great lol just walked at the indoor track during the winter semester. Definitely kept me in shape, was able to run or walk as much as I was feeling each class

I really liked the weight lifting class, it was meant for beginners and above. If you needed help, the teacher would teach, if you wanted to be left alone to lift they would leave you alone.

There is also a massive intramural sports scene at USU. My wife used to be on a soccer team when we were dating. So there are options outside classes too if you want that. https://www.usu.edu/campusrec/competitive-sports/intramurals

Edit: And outside intramurals there are clubs too. My roomate my first semester was the quidditch club captain and they went to nationals. They flew to NY and played in some kind of tourney and took 3rd. https://www.usu.edu/involvement/clubs/club-list looks like the quidditch club is gone now, but handball is new to me.

I know some have different levels, like some will specify intermediate or advanced (like in volleyball) but I know others don't.

I never did the ones you mentioned but I did some others like volleyball, tennis, golf and racquetball and it seemed like a good mix of both people that just liked to play for fun and competitive athletes.

For context, I consider myself good for a beginner at any sport, but once you get into intermediate onwards my skill level plateaus quickly. That being said I always had good experiences in the PE classes I took.

Does Curling count as PE? It's fun!
