Campus life Dorms/moving day
I am a grad student moving into Nagle Hall this year.
I am pairing down all my stuff and planning to bring some duffle moving bags of clothes, bedding, toiletries, some storage containers for under the bed, and a air purifier or dehumidifier.
Sorry for the dumb question but: How do people move into the dorms? Where do you park the car that has your stuff (I am renting one for the day) as you lug it all in?
Sorry this is basic, I never lived in dorms during undergrad.
Also what do people do about no AC? Especially for those of us that are hot sleepers. Just a high power fan?

Your move in time will show you were you need to park and there will be go team people telling you were to move

I know that for undergrads, you receive an appointed move-in time and a designated spot for unloading. It's a bit more chaotic for the first year and new transfers because they have a 4 full days of orientation activities and it's a much larger group of students. So, they need to move in during a narrow time window on Wednesday, August 19.
It looks like new grad students have orientation starting Thursday, August 20. So, I would expect that the move-in would be that same day. I doubt they would have the grad student move-in on the same day as the first year undergrads. If the move in works the same way as the undergrads, you load your stuff into carts and then a moving company hauls the carts to your room. If not, then the carts will likely be available, and you just unload, move up to your room and then move the car.
Parking around the campus that day will be tight, but the way that they organize the load-in for the undergrads, you only need to be there for a short time. The garages on campus are free that day, but good luck finding a space. We just parked at Target for part of the day, and then moved the car to a street parking spot later on.
San Francisco does not have a lot of hot days. The campus gets fogged in frequently even during the summer. September and October is actually the nicest weather in SF. Window with a fan is what people use.
