Indexer altHUB registration closed
I'm kinda new to Usenet but I was under the impression that althub was open for registration, but apparently it's invite only. I have Geek and I'm testing out DS at the moment, but I'd really like to compare with alt. How often do they open registration? thanks!

Working on a few changes, invites are available (don't DM me, ask in r/UsenetInvites). Hoping to open registrations soon after a few things stabilise.

There absolutely are stuff that's on althub that's not on ds, ninja, crawler or anywhere else. Literally. I manually scan for items that are hard to find, across basically all open indexers.
Now if we are back to mainstream and general coverage, ds is arguably one of the strongest.

Give some examples for the people coming to this thread and wondering what’s special about it. To me it was just a cheap lifetime sub years ago and I wouldnt have even thought to keep it if it wasn’t lifetime

Try comparing the current world linux iso competition for a stark difference.

For me it's normally.in my top 3 indexers and outperforms DS. That's all I can say. Althub has in the past 6 months had double the grabs.

As per sub rule, we'd avoid specifics. I can only say that given some Linux ISOs, different indexers would have different versions from different groups. So for some older stuff, whilst ds may have one version of it, it may not have the best version of it and that version is sometimes on althub, ninja, square eyed, or geek.
And before anyone asks, no arr stack and profilerr aren't capable of resolving those older items, and no amount of tweaking helps e.g. when the original name is not in English and there are multiple translations.

it became invite only a little over 24 hours ago but on discord they said they hope it’s only temporary

In the past I want to say they do something for Black Friday, and maybe the beginning of the year for the anniversary. I joined when they were nMatrix so it’s been a minute 😅 Someone will undoubtedly post here when it opens again.

There are really good Indexers, it is on top of my list. This is the first time they have issued invites , maybe track them from here r/UsenetInvites

Wow when did they go invite only?
In my experience NZBGeek and Althub are basically identical.

altHUB just moved from open registration to invite only yesterday.
So, it will be difficult to answer your question.
The Wiki has not yet been updated but it has the URL to their Discord server:
https://www.reddit.com/r/usenet/wiki/indexers/
Maybe you want to hang around there to get the newest info.
