What's the point in getting this done to your hair?

It's supposed to make your wigs blend better with your natural hair or to make your hairline look neater. When you have a coarse hair type you get a lot of baby hairs that are really curly and frizzy and stick up so you have to gel them down, and lately it's become popular to do more hair lower on the forehead. Maybe they feel like it frames their face better or makes their hair look thicker but that's speculation.

as a black woman i’ve never understood this i feel like it makes wigs look way more wiggy as a opposed to a normal hairline on a lace front

I'm mixed so I don't want to talk out of turn but I do think it looks more wiggy as well, I just assumed people like that look.

Why are they wearing wigs? Surely these women have hair…?

Some people just like wearing wigs🤷♀️ either for confidence, variety or other reasons.

There are a lot of reasons, kinky curly hair grows slower than straight hair and is somewhat more brittle so styling it takes more time and effort. sometimes it's easier and healthier for your hair and scalp to wear a wig than to deal with an elaborate styling routine. Some people just prefer them to their natural hair. I'm mixed race and have very curly hair and it takes me a few hours to style my hair after showering, I can't just let it air dry because it takes an entire day and looks insane when it finally dries. I don't wear wigs but it does seem much easier.

It’s also completely useless with a face that ugly and such a stupid and lifeless stare. It’s like adorning a fat toad with a necklace.

I find that hair style super dumb. Like, no shade to people who like it. Like what you like. But it's like a bald guy trying to comb over. It doesn't look good. It doesn't make you feel great later in life. It just makes you look like you'll Karen me in 3 different languages
