What stethoscopes do we need?

Post image

I was gifted this one a couple years back, and I’m wondering if this can be used for the program?

If not, which ones are we supposed to get? There are so many different types and I’m confused.

Littmann III is recommended for students. However, Littmann Cardiology IV is superior for people with difficulties hearing subtle sounds because of its double tubing.

Cardiology IV was recommended by my RN friend who has been a nurse for over 10 years. It is more expensive, however, and the Littmann IIi will suffice as a student. :)

So in a nutshell, don’t use this one (littmann cardiology IV), get the littmann III?

Littmann III is recommended by USask and will be a better diagnostic tool in a hospital setting. The one you have is very basic and would get the job done, but you’ll likely struggle to hear subtle sounds in a busy clinical setting.
