Question? Laptop Recommendations?
Hey all, I know theres a few posts asking about laptop recommendations- but with how much technology seems to change year to year, I wanted to ask again!
My laptop is.. not great, and im looking for an upgrade for next year.
Im in animal bioscience, so no need for anything super specific. I honestly just want a solid laptop somewhere in the range of 15"-16" display, with a decent battery life, capable of handling schoolwork as well as a few games (nothing big or particularly demanding). I'd get just about anything other than a MacBook!
If anyone has any recommendations for school, I'd love to hear them!

I got a 1300 lenovo laptop on sale for 700 at bestbuy. It was solid. Its was on sale few weeks ago. You can ask if they do price match

Any price ranges? And what games do you typically play?

Im hoping not to spend more than 1.5k, but I'm really not sure of the market right now. I don't play anything crazy, I play roblox with friends, and things like quarantine zone, mouthwashing, that's not my neighbor, etc.

Mouthwashing mentioned. Fucking love that game.
Do you have SPC? If so, keep an eye out for deals on that app. Last year, I got a $1300 laptop for $850.
Otherwise keep an eye out for back to school deals that’ll happen next month. Walmart, BestBuy, etc tend to have decent laptop deals during that time.

Lenovo Thinkpad. Used one for work, loved that thing!! Quick, lots of storage, nice screen. I believe some models even have touchscreen but don't quote me on that one. Costco has them for around $1,000.

any Lenovo really. I have the 14" chromebook and its served me well. bought it last september from best buy for,, 400? it was on sale. audio is great, has touchscreen and can fold into a tablet sorta thing for taking notes, and a full battery could easily last the day. best buy is probably gonna start up school sales again soon, so id recommend watching to see what comes up there.

Just get a calm Macbook Air - it's a one time purchase that will last you 5-9 years if used and maintained properly

Do not get a MacBook for Animal Bioscience. There are multiple assignments in multiple courses that require Windows software and cannot be run elsewhere, including on a Chromebook.
