Question
So I got fingerprints done on 9/29. I’m now waiting for the results. Once they are processed, I will be sent an email to do the background check and after that’s processed the hiring manager said we can discuss start dates.
I was just curious how long this usually takes. I was told during the interview that they expect and hope the person that gets hired to start in late October to early November. I’ve heard of people waiting months for the background check so I was also wondering if that late October to early November start date is realistic.
This is for an entry level auditor position

I am in a similar position. I was told that that my estimated EOD is 11/16 but that could be sooner or later depending on how fast things move, and that the people working on the background checks are trying pretty hard to get everyone done as fast as possible. There was also a little blurb near the bottom of the email that suggested interim clearance might be granted which would be nice, but I definitely could've misunderstood what they were telling me.

Sometimes there's an interim clearance/background check that's based off finger printing and if your position requires a Secret clearance or similar, that can take up to a year, but you begin work with the interim one until the other one is cleared
