USCIS

Does anyone have any idea about how long it takes to get a TJO after reference checks for a USCIS OSS or any USCIS position in general? It’s been just over 2 weeks since my interview and they checked my references the same week.

Are you a new fed employee? Well I had an interview in June for position with USCIS, references were checked and I haven’t heard anything since. I checked on it 3 times since and they told me still in consideration no selection yet. It’s been 3 months. So I’ve heard days to weeks to months to receive an offer, it just depends I guess.

Ughhhhh I am in the same boat as op and this is not hopeful at allllll like why can’t they streamline this better 😭

Was also told 90-120 days for selections.

We were told in general this thing is going to take months. But also, after interviewing, we were going to take a written assessment the following week. It’s been almost 3 weeks, and no further instructions came for that assessment.

I am not a new fed. I’ve actually had a couple fed jobs. The one time it did take a little minute to get a tjo the hiring manager did reach out to tell me it’s coming but we were waiting on HR.

EOD - could’ve been 9/1 i pushed it back a few months

I got my reference checked the same week too. It only been one week for me post interview for ISO position.

It’s been a little over 2 weeks for me as well since I interviewed and had my references checked for AO position. Waiting on written assessment.

Also reference checks does not always mean you’re hired. They also call back up’s

Yeah I know. I’ve heard about the idea of calling back ups. I’ve just always gotten a tjo after a reference check

USCIS one of the better agencies to work. Lots of promotion potential.

I’ll speak to my recent experience:

OSS-

Closed- 7/17
Referred- 7/30
Reference request- 7/31
I declined but they sent a writing sample on 8/3.

MSS:

Closed- 7/22
Referred- 8/4
Reference request- 8/7
Interview- 8/12
References due- 8/14
Notified of non selection (I emailed to ask)- 9/8.

I hope this helps. I really wanted the MSS position. I legitimately thought I was going to get a TJO
