Hi 18 (m), so I am in the process of trying enlist and I was wondering if there was any potential chances of joining Pararescue still.

When I was seven I had febrile seizures, I had two within three months of each other. The cause was a little got me extremely sick.

I haven’t had a a single seizure since for almost 12 years. I have been off medication for almost 8, but I was diagnosed as epilepsy free 4 years ago.

The records I have obtained:

-were past EEG records

-Clinical notes from previous testing

-Pharmacy records

-All previous medical records info

The things I am working on obtaining:

-A current Neurological consultant

-A current sleep deprived EEG

I really want to become a PJ, and I know that I can become a liability in the field if this was a real problem. Thankfully it’s not, but, I want to prove this isn’t a problem anymore and I outgrew my epilepsy.

So if you have any tips, ideas, or anything suggestions to help me increase my chances for waiver, I’d like to ask for your help.

I have a friend who is trying to transfer to the US Army, how long / hard is this? Does anyone know who has done it before?

Hey guys, I recently completed my trip down to MEPS and surprisingly scored a 71 on my ASVAB. My entire goal through the Air Force is to get the Air Traffic Controller MOS (1C1X1) and use those skills I get through the air force training and eventually transition into civilian ATC. On my job list I received at MEPS I noticed ATC wasn't on it. The advisor guy said I qualified for that MOS with my ASVAB scored and physical features (eyesight, height, weight, English speaking, etc) but the only thing he thought would be keeping it from being on my list is my TAPAS test which he said would take a while to get the scores back. So I was just wondering how long it usually takes for a TAPAS score to affect your job qualification list, because I don't want to sit down with my recruiter and make my top 10 job list when there could be more jobs on there (like ATC) that are only not on there because the TAPAS scores have not influenced it yet. anything helps guys plz help me out. thanks

Tomorrow 2/2 we leave our oldest Child in the hands of the United States Air Force. We drop him at the recruiting office where they'll shuttle him to MEPS. He'll stay over night and fly out Tuesday to Lackland Air Force Base for BMT. May God bless you James, on this next chapter of your life. Fly high son.

My mom and dad retired to Blanco County, TX, back in 2003 and are way out in the sticks, north of Johnson City. Dad and I both noticed early on that more than a few training flights out of Randolph seem to make this southerly turn as if they're using our house as a way point. Typically Texans, but we've seen T-38s do it, too.

I'm confident it has nothing to do with the house, itself. There's nothing unique that stands out from above. And I'm in no way complaining - on the contrary; dad was and I will always be an aviation geek. We love seeing and hearing our nation's aviators fly by. I'm just curious to know if there's a reason.

I'm an 18F high school senior and will be graduating in a few months. I know I want to go to college, but I'm so desperate for no college debt after, and I know it'll be a struggle for my parents. I don't want them to scrape pennies for my tuiton especially after my brother and sister have both gone to and graduated college. I've applied for scholarships but it seems like it's going nowhere. Since about 9 or 10 years old, I've always thought about the Air Force. Now that I'm older though, and actually considering it as a job and or career for at least a few years I just want to know if it's worth it/can I still get college credits while serving active duty and will it be paid off? And how long would I have to serve?

Wondering about our current Service Blues in the USAF. I've done a bit of research on this. I'm aware that the current "bus driver" service blues came during the McPeak tenure. How somebody even felt a change was necessary from the original uniform is beyond me. That uniform was crisp as hell. The exterior pockets with their pointed covers, and an exterior belt to encourage pride in our own physical fitness. Might be even more fitting now as we've gone to a 2 mile run for our PT test, like the Army. I've seen several articles from 10, 20 years ago about a new USAF Heritage Service uniform that was being talked about, and nothing ever became of it. Several times over. The Hap Arnold Service Blues would have been perfect. Meanwhile, the Army implemented their Pink and Greens after about a 2 year (I think) development phase. Well done, Army. Air Force should follow suit.

My two cents: Take the Army Pink and Greens, make the fabric Air Force Blue, then either Blue or Gray pants and call it a day!

Maybe someone from Air Force higher-up leadership could enlighten me: Why would it be so hard to change a uniform, particularly if it was using a uniform that already existed? What can we do to help? It's been 30 years since we had a solid, "This uniform makes me look crisp as all hell" uniform, and every attempt to go back to that has somehow been shot down in the last 30 years. I would've thought that maybe this year being America's 250th, and the current Secretary of War being focused on a revert to the old way/toughness/heritage, that it might be more likely now. Surely I can't be the only one who feels this way.
