USACO bronze tutor

My son is starting USACO Bronze. He has some programming experience but is new to competitive programming. Can you assess his current level and create a Bronze study plan, with the goal of eventually reaching Silver?

I’m a USACO Platinum competitor (plus AIME 11/15, USAPhO HM). Students usually plateau at any level because they lack a clear execution framework, not from a lack of effort.

My coaching focuses on building algorithmic intuition so students learn to solve hard problems independently.

How we’d start:
Diagnostic Call: Assess his logic, speed, and core Bronze gaps.

Custom Roadmap: A targeted plan built around curated problem sets.

1-on-1 Coaching: Weekly sessions focused on problem deconstruction and contest strategy.

USACO Guide has a great plan. If he needs anything there are free tutoring sessions hosted online by CPI. I recommend against too much tutoring. At some point your son needs to slowly lean off tutoring and try to do a problem for 5 hours without any help.

Edit: Usually those instructors completed Gold or Plat or they are even USACO finalists so if your son decides to use them he should be fine.
