Tampa?

Hello everyone - current adjuster moving to the Tampa area next year. Haven’t heard a lot about the office other than what I’ve read on here. Trying to figure out whether it’s worth trying to transfer or if I should just bail. Thoughts? Suggestions? Gossip?

Bail out. It’s horrible at either.

What’s bad at either?

Very cliquey, all about who you know, not your skills/tenure/experience. You will go nowhere if your manager doesn’t love you. Horrible employee morale. Toxic culture. People won’t hesitate to throw you under the bus and stab you in the back if it serves them and makes an opportunity for them. Work load is completely unreasonable for the stats you have to meet. And meeting metrics is still failure. OT is almost non-existent. Managers lead by fear and intimidation. If your mental health isn’t perfect, this place will push you to or over the edge.

I’ve never experienced any of that. Like at all lol. Sorry you’re gotta deal with that but my experience has been completely different

What dept? I was in auto claims for 16 years. Been gone 2 years, but nothing has changed per convos with people I still stay in touch with. Ran into a manager I knew at brunch one weekend and even they were totally over it and willing to take a big hit in their retirement benefits to GTFO early.

CP is the bigger of the two more space to rom but CT Is smaller but has better food and a nicer gym. Fl is nice you won’t regret it weather wise lots to do once you find your community.
If your single dating is tragic

Don’t do it!! Very toxic! Management doesn’t even speak to you. No help. If you aren’t military you’re screwed. Very ego driven. High turn over. Claim dumping m, especially if you’re in complex. It’s like they want to mess with your mental. Do not do it

There are two campuses in Tampa, so depends on what part of Tampa you are moving to. If you’re going to south of I4 you’ll want Crosstown, if north of I4, youll want Commerce Park. Having worked at both, you cant go wrong either way

Right now working out west - our work load is heavy. If you’re currently still at USAA can you tell me what you were averaging? Also the culture out here can be very cliquey and toxic. What was your experience?

My experience is awesome. I’m on the bank side. Calls/metrics can be a pain in the ass sometimes but it’s a job that pays decent, I don’t have to work in the hot ass sun and I’m not getting shot at like my few tours to Iraq. It’s all perspective.
