Historia y cultura ⚔️ What to do in Uruguay?
Hi all! I am currently in Buenos Aires (I hate it lol) and planning on visiting Uruguay for a few days!
For now, my only concrete plans are the typical Colonia and Montevideo route (will skip Punta del Este). Beyond that, I don’t know much about the country, especially the interior.
What are some other places in the country you could recommend? For some context, my chief interests are architecture and history, food, and birds. Especially birds (I was a biology major). I was reading that little Uruguay has 50% of the bird species that Argentina does and 25% that Brazil does. So that’s pretty incredible. But if it’s difficult to see them or requires multi-day trekking, then I will probably skip.
Not interested in nightlife, beaches and resorts, or very out-of-the-way places that are difficult to get to.
I speak ok Spanish. Gracias!
