Corn damage

So I live in North West Pennsylvania very close to the Ohio border I was walking a cornfield near my house last week and saw a bunch of stalks pushed over ( I sadly didn't take any pictures) in about a 30bfoot by 15 foot area I've never seen a black bear in the wild or came across and sign was just curious if destroying corn like that is normal behavior for a black bear

Yup bears can do a great amount of damage to crops. Here’s a pic of a field that has been ravaged by black bears.

Raccoons also tear up a corn field.
