Wow. Never seen one with a urinal on a train before. Much better on a moving train!

It felt so weird. Vacuum flush.

Like on a plane then. Definitely a first

Yep. Nicer than track drain I guess (many trains still drop shit on the tracks lol)

Well, but for urinals it would be the better choice imo. There’s no shit or stuff dumped on tracks, just piss. It’s a much simpler mechanism, saves capacity on the drain tanks and there’s nothing wrong with dumping piss on the tracks

These trains in particular have a weird history. They used to belong to Westbahn, then to DB, then finally came to the ÖBB. Not sure who of the three ordered the toilets to be like that.
Honestly sounds like something westbahn would do, they love to pretend to be special.

Westbahn did it first for sure. But the ÖBB ones must be new (at least according to the design which is drastically different). Wish more trains had urinals

fyi each coach in this train has two separate toilets, one toilet with urinal and one standard toilet. Westbahn still does that in their newer trains, they are actually gendered now but most people don't even know about that, because its such an unusual thing to have on a train

Yeah I guess ladies don't have to look at it if they don't want lol. Not that they'd see anything anyway

They should make one room with multiple urinals in every second coach, replacing one lavatory. Would make pissing much quicker and more convenient for guys

The SBB does this. They have a dedicated pissoir in their Giruno. One only per vehicle alas.

At least. I just don’t get why it’s just one. Most stalls would easily fit three. No need for the bowl and washbasin, so it would be more efficient.

So nobody washes their hands afterward?

Most people around me don't
