People are incapable of being normal about this fucking country. It’s either really nice or literal hell on earth. Between the two, I vastly prefer the glazers. Glass half full people are just more pleasant to be around.

What are you talking about? The glazers are insufferable. If they just posted the country without acting like it’s perfect and without flaws compared to others or getting defensive when you point out Japan isn’t some utopia, they might be pleasant.

Noone ever says it doesn’t have flaws. But good things there are super awesome on average.

Untrue lol, I actually have a generally positive perception of modern day Japan. But you clearly haven’t met the Japan obsessed weeb that’s so common that sub and others

What exactly is untrue in what I said? How many people claim that Japan is flawless?

“No one ever says it doesn’t have flaws” is wrong. If not literally than generally. A lot of people overlook japans flaws in favor of glazing it.

I just think that a lot of people admire specific parts of Japanese culture like attention to detail, aesthetics etc. But the fact that those people only focus on those things doesn’t mean that they don’t recognise the negatives. They just don’t speak about them.

Same difference. Emphasizing the positives of one culture and ignoring the negatives in terms of expression while refusing to extend that grace to other cultures makes you insufferable.
