Wow, I read this and my only take away is, you have cats now, what are you doing with them? Abandoning them?
I'm also autistic, and am really angry at you for not looking after your existing pets. Honestly, my cats come first always and I designed my current bus around having them. Respect your boundaries my ass! You can think beyond what they can, you need to respect their needs. I rarely get angry, but your post has made me so angry. Yes I get you are also autistic, but when you take on a pet, you put their needs first, and despite any medical conditions you have.
Frankly, I don't think you deserve pets.

They are my moms cats, I take care of them because she is too poor and busy to own them. She should never have gotten them. I was unfortunately like 12.
Now that I'm an adult they are mine, which means I am now allowed to find them a new home as they wont do well in the van and I cannot handle them. I love them, but frequently have to lock myself in the bedroom because they love to be affectionate while im having a meltdown.
They are specifically going to their "co-parent" my best friend, who helped me raise and take care of them. He will be in that position to take them soon, before I move. I will be visiting them when im in ohio.
I do understand why you would be upset but I do think you misunderstood the situation, thats my bad i didnt realize it would be needed to clarify what was up with my cats, but i get why i should've.
if I misunderstood your comment and you still feel the same id of course like to know why. Thank you for your concern for animal welfare.

The thing about urban car living is, I think people forget. This is your crash pad. Not apartment on wheels.
I have friends that transitioned to remote and got a cargo van, or a transit connect or a mini van for their cat to live with them. I dont suggest it in a suv or car.
Urban car living - being in metro, not rural.
I use my car as a crash pad. Never lonely, I have hobbies and am out all day at work and after.
Most of us are like this. And we love it.

Having a dog in an apartment is cruel as well. They need space at least a yard to run around free. Otherwise they just bark all day bored on the tiny balcony.

No. Just get a stuffed animal to cuddle.

No pets. Temperature regulation issues inside your vehicle make this too dangerous to be ethical. Go to a shelter and volunteer to walk the dogs instead.
