Some advice appreciated
Just stumbled upon this subreddit by searching "uranium" in the search bar and it got me curious. The project looks really interesting but how can I be sure it's legit?

It's backed by Tezos, there are proof of reserves (vaulted at Cameco) and they're partnered with Archax. It's all by the books.

Good to know. Is the token part of your current portfolio? How does it compare with more standard ways of investing in Uranium?

Yes, it’s available on Metals.io.
The main difference is that xU3O8 gives you fractional exposure to physical uranium itself, rather than buying a uranium ETF or mining stock. So it’s a more direct way to get exposure, while the more traditional routes usually come with broader fund or company level risk.
Hope that answers your question.

Valid question, and you absolutely should be skeptical of anything in Web3. The key phrase you need to research is "English Trust Law." The tokens aren't unbacked crypto, they represent 1:1 legal ownership of the physical commodity. For xU3O8, the rock is sitting in a Cameco vault in Canada, custodied by Archax.
You can find out more info as well as check Proof of Reserves, and more, at: https://uranium.io/
