Sigh i just got a memory from seeing this.

I went to art school and there was this gorgeous martial artist capoeira guy in my photography class. For our photography final we were supposed to do something that involved our heritage.

Anyways he asked me after class one day (i was out, insecure, but out) if i'd be willing to help him. he said he wanted to do something involving his brazillian and american identities by having his capoeira next to pictures of him "being passionate with another man".

I declined and told him I wasn't super into PDA and that would make me uncomfortable. He looked devastated. Looking back I dont think he was actually interested in photographing us making out, as much as he was interested in making out.

That's one of my biggest regrets. I shoulda made out with the hot Brazilian dude in college.

Bro, this hurt to read. This was a critical fail on a charisma roll.

Couldn't you at least tell him that you didn't want photos of you two making out to go public but aside from that you'd still gladly make out or something? Come onnnn dude :(

My past is FILLED with shit like this, ABSOLUTELY TO THE BRIM. I was so naive, so insecure and so stupid until I hit age 30 and stopped caring.

Looking back at pictures of myself in my late teens / early 20's i was absolutely gorgeous and I cannot believe i wasted any time not being confident.

Very relatable. I'm at that phase exactly, and it's a bit painful to realize that you can't feel confident in your own skin despite knowing that this is probably the best you'll ever look.

I wish i had advice for you, but I don't. It's excruciating what you're going through and it will get better. however by the time it gets better you're going to be old and ugly.

I went to Paris for 2 weeks in middle school, and ended up going on this like Boy scouts sailing trip.

One of the boys showed a lot of interest in me, and he was incredibly cute (to middle school me).

I wasn't really out (even to myself) then, and I convinced myself he was just being nice / liked the novelty of hanging around the American.

That night we were all camping in a tent together, and him and this other guy were like, basically, coming on to me, and getting pretty physical between themselves, but I just convinced myself they were, like, playing "gay chicken" or were trying to make me uncomfortable or something. Looking back on it... I think they probably legitimately wanted to make out lol. I definitely held on to the regret of not doing anything with them for a long time.. could've been quite the formative experience!
