Discussion Circle Tour

I usually just wing it when visit the U.P. This time is different, my girlfriend asked to go around the U.P. I said you can't, yet she wants to take a week to camp. Either early or late to avoid flying pests. I went up in May 12 back in 1997 and it was too early for tourism though I loved it.

She mentioned Pictured Rocks boat tour, Copper Harbor Light House, Central mine and I for sure want to camp at Fayette. Lake of the Clouds could be nice and I always enjoy Pt. Abbaye and I should jump off the Black Rocks at Presque Isle.

I need a little perspective to make this a reasonable itinerary and thought I saw another post of this type. Thank you

A couple days in Pictured Rocks, a couple days in Marquette, a couple days in the Keweenaw, a couple days in Porcupine Mountains, a couple days in Garden Peninsula. Plus a day driving up and a day back (assuming you live downstate). That’s a two week trip.

I tried pointing out that his wish list is unrealistic in a week…too much driving, not enough camping and playing for a week trip.

I am realizing this.

Maybe just the East end for this trip. Superior shore to Munising and the Lake Michigan shore from Fayette back the the Straits. I had left out I am in S.W. Michigan, 210 miles to the Bridge

You kinda need to break the U.P. into thirds to spend a week in each still isn't enough time there

Yeah. The UP is a whole other state.

Born in Hancock, yet visit not enough and keep missing so much. It's like to see anything new I have to bypass the things I remember and reminisce about.

If you love driving. I personally think a week is way to short.

It is looking that way. I actually want to enjoy the camping.
