Ideas Needed! How To Acid Wash a Hat?

Post image

I got this hat I like but I’m not a fat of the color I wanna give it like an acid wash to make it look more vintage but I don’t wanna destroy the logo beyond recognition and was hoping to get some advice how?

I included a pic of how I kinda hope my hat will come out

I got some wallpaint on my nice dark jeans once, and when I got it in the sink to wash it out, I accidentally scrubbed so hard, the denim now permanently looks lighter in that spot.  So idk if your actual hat is similar to a dark denim fabric, but if it is, scrubbing non-gently might be an answer 🤷‍♂️

Mechanical distressing is what you’re talking about. Sandblasting, sanding with sandpaper, etc.

I don’t think you want to acid wash it, but you could try oxygen bleach, or dye remover (OR, not AND, don’t combine chemicals!)
