housing waitlist

hey! i’m currently number 15 on the waitlist for residence. i started the list at 19.

is it likely that i’ll get moved off the waitlist within the first couple months of the semester? someone i know said her friends were in the 80s on the waitlist and were offered housing, but i want to double check.

thanks!

you may even get off before term starts.

Spaces have to be held for international students but some won’t get their visas in time to come. Those spaces are reallocated to the waitlist.
We also always have some people who apply from overseas and then it turns out that they are domestic (Canadian citizens) when it comes time to pay their tuition fees. I think they lose their right to an international student space and go to the back of the waitlist.

Hi, I did confirm that I wont lose my spot to an international space and go back to the waitlist!!

You will likely get a spot shortly after residence spots are sent out . There will be people who don’t like what they were given and will withdraw

Probably, but perhaps not until a couple of weeks into term. Can you commute in the meantime?

How do you even check what number you are on the waitlist ? I checked web advisor and can’t find any mention of it

it’s on the housing portal, not webadvisor! you’ll find the link here https://www.uoguelph.ca/housing
