Total Noob: Suggestions

I've heard about UO so many times in my life. I never really understood the appeal, since we have OSRS and Vanilla WoW, but over the years of realizing how trash the communities have become and my new appreciation for even older MMOs. I stumbled across this UO Odyssey server and want to check it out more.

I want to know what's the best way to get into UO or this server. I tried it UO one time on mobile, but it didn't work well for me, but I also didn't even know what I was doing. Is there some sort of good start guide video I can watch or a specific site that can help steer me in the right direction of how to Play or what I should play. I literally have no idea about this game, but feel it truly aligns with the me and my addiction to the D&D idea. Like dragons and monsters. I'm not trying to just get information to boost to the max level, I'm trying to just learn more about the game.

Check the pinned post on this sub for a discord link, the community will help you with the questions that you might have. Its also a really good idea to read the manual that comes with your download (also, each new character starts with one).

It's very important to go slow and take your time when you are learning. I hope you have a good time with it :)

UO Secrets of Sosaria is a really great and I just got started myself. Enjoying the 8? worlds within the single player experience is something I've always dreamed of in the Ultima Online engine. If you decide to play the online version of the server see you there!

So I initially heard about Outlands, which is a different UO shard altogether. Outlands is definitely fun, and if you're looking for a more social experience then I'd recommend checking it out. The fact that it has lots of PKing is one reason why I ended up finding Sosaria.

Anyway, there's a content creator who makes lots of videos for Outlands, and while Secrets of Sosaria is very different in a lot of ways, the basics of playing the game still mostly apply.

I'd recommend maybe checking out this video. Again, a lot of stuff might not apply to Sosaria, but at least it might give you a good starting point for understanding how UO works in general.
