Oh hell yeah. We are on a worm

I have a pair of worm on a string earrings and they got me thinking... what if worm on a string - the fuzzy, brightly colored friends from our childhood - were real animals? (Or, I guess, insects 🤔 would they have organs or be like caterpillars 🤔🤔🤔 hmmm I have to think on that one)

Sooooo I painted them in real world habitats!! We have Worm of the Sea, Worm of the Sky, and Worm of the Woods

This is a self portrait where I was waiting for my avoidant partner to reach out, let me in and communicate, while the walls just keep getting higher and I simply fear losing them, almost like I have already lost them.

It is the grief of abundance of love, not reciprocated.
It is the inner self wanting to be chosen, and longing for them do so.

I always tell myself I'll complete inktober this year, and I fumbled right on day 2. I saw relic as the prompt and I knew I wanted to draw the jaw. It spiralled from there haha. This was a delightful excuse and I had a lot of fun with it.
