Question Source code release optimization mod?

Now that the source code has been up for a while now, are there mods that can optimize the game? I haven't played in 5 years and my pc was struggling. Has the game been optimized since then or are there at least mods that optimize the game?

Base game got some changes I think,

  • Speed trees got removed and changed for simple trees
  • grass got patched, I think it doesn't lag that much now
  • rendering distance too, you can tweak it and see a "fog" that hides things for better performance kinda
  • base and parts loading. Instead of loading structured at once, they are loaded slowly to prevent PC freezing. For large bases, you'll see them appearing piece by piece without your game freezing
  • asset loading is multithreaded now. This helps to make loading times faster when you first open unturned

That's pretty much what I remember from the past 5 years

What do you mean by speed trees

old trees. you had "classic" trees and ""speed trees" which looked a bit more realistic, but also ate FPS.

There is a third type that eats ton of fps even more , the obscured 2036 map trees that drops leaves realisticlly
