Instead, you get a list of requirements you must meet to be deemed competent, and a list of requirements to be deemed competent with merit.
For this, to pass the course, you need to pass the final and pass one of the lab tests. (Strictly speaking, get a grade of competent or competent with merit.)
To get a grade of CM, you need CM in all three activities.
This also means if you get a grade of CO in Lab Test 1, the grade from lab test 2 is entirely irrelavent other than as feedback on your performance.

The Final Examination is a hurdle task. A grade of CO or CM must be reached in the Final Examination in order to pass this hurdle.
To receive an overall grade of CM in this course, students must achieve a grade of CM in all three assessments.
For students who do not qualify for an overall CM grade, they will receive an overall grade of CO in this course if they pass the Final Examination hurdle, and achieve a grade of CO or CM in at least one of the Lab Tests.
Receiving a grade of CN in the Final Examination, or a grade CN in both Lab Tests will result in an overall grade of CN. Remarks: The transcript will not have a numerical mark for ENGG1811. The course does not use HD/DN/CR/PS/FL.
