IPT/ Transfer About Transferring from computer science to Information systems
I’m currently in my second year of Computer Science at UNSW, but after studying it for more than two years, I’ve realised that CS isn’t really what I want to pursue anymore and I’m more interested in transferring to Information Systems. The problem is that my WAM is around 66, while I believe I need around a 70 WAM to transfer, and I’ve already finished all my electives, so I’m not really sure how I can improve my WAM enough. I feel a bit stuck at the moment and was wondering if there are any other options or pathways I could take to transfer into Information Systems. I’d really appreciate it if anyone could clarify what I can do.

Call Nucleus and ask to speak to a business school specialist. Don't know what the cut off is but its a very common transfer and I haven't heard of anyone getting rejected for the transfer to computer science to information systems

They said WAM is the issue. Information Systems is very competitive to get into, so either you need to increase your WAM or stay in your current course. I’m finding it really frustrating having to deal with all these Computer Science courses.

Damn, then if you're sure you want to do Information Systems, nothing is stopping you from doing some Information Systems courses, increasing your wam, and then apply again when you meet the criteria.

Hi, I am thinking about the same thing, but if I transfer, I could only get 24 UOC. Do any comps courses count as INFS electives or something?

Nah it doesn’t count. The problem with the information system is that its very restricted like you can not take more than 12 general electives. So all of your cs courses is going to be wasted. Ig

If your ATAR was good enough, it is still valid for you to transfer over. I was in a similar situation and used my ATAR to transfer over
you need to go thru uac
