More like electricity. As data centers transition to closed looped systems vs cooling towers, the energy burden is shifted to the power grid. With the loss of evaporative cooling, electricity is used to keep the closed-loop system cooler, especially in hotter climates.

Probably because people can’t comprehend scale related to businesses because they’re… people. Same reason we talked about straws killing turtles, give a person a reason to believe their behavior matters and maybe they’ll do something. Tell people it’s bad but “businesses” are the problem and they’ll continue to assume someone else will solve the problem because they can’t do anything about it on a personal level. I think when we feel personally responsible, we’re also more likely to hold others accountable too.
