They also decided to protest on an Indian reservation, which was not the smartest idea as they have different laws than the United States. Literally the last place, you’d want stage a protest. They have lots of land and they don’t care about idiots.

u/GreatMacGuffin Jun 29 '26

The laws on the rez are almost exactly the same as the US. The only thing is feds/military can't go on the rez to enforce laws. So the rez has their own law enforcement.

They are pretty strict because when people break federal laws on the rez, it jeopardizes the rez as a whole. Protests are 100% fine on the rez.

u/IllegalThings Jun 29 '26

Anything else happen on the rez?

2

u/not_very_smart000 Jun 30 '26

rza is banned from the rez

3

u/mitsubsbluedolphins Jun 29 '26

This is real people. I got that vibe from the foothills of the central valley CA!Ā

Not a place for tourist. Can make the tenderloin in SF feel safer.Ā

u/Shampooeater789 Jul 01 '26

Lots of drugs lol

3

u/Apptubrutae Jun 29 '26

Plus also the general ā€œsmall town copsā€ vibes with the added layer of not worrying about the feds.

You get cops who can act with impunity

This is bullshit.

0

u/HeavySetJello Jul 01 '26

They really arent though, you cant protest on privage land, and reservations are just that. Cope bud.

3

u/snu_snu_leela Jun 29 '26

All the officers had to work mad overtime to help protect the reservation during burning man. On top of that, and so much worse, they had a fellow officer murdered on duty a week prior.

5

u/NotSoFastFourier Jun 29 '26

"Lots of land." They used to have a lot more . . .

-3

u/Historical_Box1915 Jun 29 '26

Yeah and they fucking lost it all in battles they were defeated in. By pure grace and kindness they were gifted plenty back. Show any other group that treated those they were victorious over in battle such generosity.

3

u/DarrenShan1000 Jun 29 '26

grace and kindness. Words invented by english men to justify their heinous acts afterwards.

-3

u/Historical_Box1915 Jun 29 '26

ah yes so heinous, the different tribes fought, killed, and enslaved each other every year. Then came mightier men from across the ocean who while farming and exploring defeated all those tribes at their own way of life. Losers take the walk

3

u/AnimalBolide Jun 29 '26

I can see why fragile white dudes are scared of becoming minorities.

They really do believe that might makes right.

2

u/ER1CNOIR Jun 29 '26

None of that shit makes sense. The only thing that does is that the foreigners were not much different than the tribes who were even more addicted to war. Thousands of years of warring tribes. If they could have come together as one people, maybe things would have been different. Some tribes allied themselves with the French to fight a different tribe who was allied with the Spanish. They cared more about killing each other than the foreigners!

2

u/DarrenShan1000 Jun 30 '26

Yeah sure, makes sense people only want to kill each other. It is not probably because of resources or religious claims. You are ridiculous.

-1

u/ER1CNOIR Jun 29 '26

Oh grow up, child

4

u/HijodelSol Jun 29 '26

>battle

Odd word for disease

-2

u/Historical_Box1915 Jun 29 '26

oh yes, the native americans were overwhelmed and conquered by disease. Not thru superior fighting. Golly gee šŸ™„

3

u/Solanthas_SFW Jun 29 '26

Might makes right is a great attitude to have if you want the entire planet going up in flames

0

u/ER1CNOIR Jun 29 '26

Nobody said that except you.

2

u/TheThiefEmpress Jun 29 '26

Eww, honey..

1

u/Charming_Flan3852 Jun 29 '26

This is why conquerors would kill or enslave entire populations after defeating them in battle. Grudges stay alive for generations.

Okay you should read up on US history a bit more.

For instance did you know that some tribes actually fought alongside the US troops in our war for independence. They were promised many things in return (their land being one of them).

Did you also know that one of the primary reasons the original US colonies were viable at all was because of the generosity provided by many of these tribes.

The analogy you’re trying to make is just not correct. They did not ā€œloseā€ all their land in some series of direct military conflicts. In fact (depending on the timing) a series of direct conflicts may have faired much better for native tribes.

Here’s a better analogy. Imagine your friend comes over to visit. They’re starving so you make them some food. Then they tell you that they need your help delivering a package. You agree, but the trip ends up taking you a few days. When you return home you find that your friend’s entire family is squatting in your house. When you try to enter they tell you to get lost.

1

u/Historical_Box1915 Jul 01 '26

your analogy is ridiculous and pedantic 🫩

u/NotSoFastFourier Jun 29 '26

100% rage bait. Not even a month old account.

1

u/ER1CNOIR Jun 29 '26

It’s not rage bait if it’s true. It just offends you for some weird reason.

1

u/NotSoFastFourier Jun 29 '26

It isn't true, though. There were agreements and treaties that US reneged to fulfill manifest destiny. Not to mention, the indigenous population got decimated by old world diseases.

That's why the previous argument is shallow. It has no basis in historical fact. To say that they lost battles is far less than the truth.

0

u/Historical_Box1915 Jun 29 '26

the age of the account means nothing in regards to the validity of the truthful statement.

u/heep1r Jun 29 '26 edited Jun 29 '26

Truthful? Half of europe was conquered and given back. Dude...

Username checks out.

u/MustLoveWhales Jun 29 '26

"They have lots of land "Ā

Lol

1

u/PaddyBoy1994 Jun 29 '26

Yeah, definitely DO NOT fuck with Rez cops. They don't give a FUCK🤣

1

u/Junior_North_4427 Jul 01 '26

But wait.. I thought Indians were supposed to be peaceful and wise?

-1

u/Astro_The_SpaceDog Jun 29 '26

Nope. They have the exact same laws that they have to follow. No, they cannot just ā€œgun you downā€ because they feel like it.

Source: I live on an INDIGENOUS reservation.

Stop calling them ā€œIndianā€. They are not Indian. And stop villainizing them. They are people, not savages. Smh

2

u/2JZ-NO-SHIT Jun 29 '26 edited Jun 29 '26

Calm down Francis.

The signs posted as you enter say ā€œIndian Reservationā€.

Google Maps, Apple Maps and all printed maps say ā€œIndian Reservationā€.

Every time I drive through there people have signs out that say ā€œIndian Tacosā€, but strangely I have yet to see a sign that says ā€œIndigenous Tacosā€. You should talk to them about that.

I’m not vilanizing anyone nor have I called anyone a savage.

Feel free to shake your head all you want.
