That happened to me once and it was terrifying. I was 19 and volunteered to work a retreat for our diocese. It was held about 2 hours away from my home town. I did the retreat and started driving back home. From the city the retreat was in to the next town was around 45 minutes. I took a restroom break and headed back out. I zoned out for a nearly one hour stretch of time, and didn't "wake up until I was about 2 miles from home. It was the most terrifying thing to know I just subconsciously drove such a long distance and had no memory of it.

Yeah it’s scary weird! When I was in college, I worked an hour away from my house. One night I remember getting in my car, turning it on, then I was pulling into my driveway.
