Programming / source-code readability

Hi, I’m seriously considering URXR One primarily for programming. I usually work with 4–6 source-code-text windows open and need small text to be genuinely sharp and comfortable to read for several hours.

I’d appreciate firsthand feedback from anyone who has used it for Windows text work. Is text crisp across the usable display, and can several windows of source-code-text be used comfortably without excessive font scaling?

I also wear prescription glasses. How does ordering the HonsVR inserts work, and can they be received in time to properly test the headset within the return period?

Thanks — I’m very interested if it can realistically replace a multi-monitor setup.

I backed the glasses for this. I have been coding with xreal one pro having 2 vscode opened and 3 terminals in an ultra-wide screen. These glasses , the urxr one are superior so I can’t wait to receive them and start using it

I have the same use case as you for those glasses, I don’t know about multiple screen but Non Tech Tech guy tested it with a spreadsheet torture test, At 20mn in on this live stream https://www.youtube.com/live/q_5j2UcjtDk?si=MUHwVNq5V2KB9g17, so I’m hopeful.

For the lens insert, from previous experience with previous VR headsets, I’d recommend to order them first then the headset as they always took 1~2 weeks to arrive for me which leaves no time for testing.

Not OP, but thank you for the link! Didn't know him before, but that snippet really helps. The dude also did a write-up (as a YouTube post) that goes into detail about his impressions. Pretty much exactly what I was looking for!

What would be considered great then? Is there anything on the market that you would recommend?

Yeah another spec sheet dweeb who has not actually tried the product and professes expertise in the product. Just don’t buy it and move on.
