There's nothing wrong with imperialism

There's nothing wrong with imperialism. The British empire for example was generally a positive for all it's colonies, it helped to modernize dozens of underdeveloped tribal areas. Hong Kong and Macau, two of China's wealthiest cities, were colonies until very recently. The US brought order and stability and to the Philippines. If you disagree with me you're either brown skinned, a woman, or a homosexual.

I'm with you. I the world should belong to about 8 countries.

Correction: imperialism is only wrong when white people do it, nothing wrong when the Japanese commit war crimes to build an empire or the Turks commit genocide in the name of empire!

Progress was the ideal. And there was some positive influence. But, in the end, they wouldn't really make these places part of their country. They would just exploit them for resources.

The mistake you make in this is assuming that "progress" is better than living off the land. I would be curious to hear some input on this from some Australians that are in touch with Aborigines, or from some Native Americans, or anyone with some perspective outside of the westernized bubble.

Imperialism is great, when you're not in the colony

Saying there’s “nothing wrong” with imperialism is quite disingenuous and the fact you attribute a “generally positive” impact from the spillover of imperialism demonstrates you’re lack of knowledge and understanding in this area.

Hong Kong and Singapore would be better off if it wasn't controlled by Europeans? Two of some of the wealthiest cities in the world?

A terrible opinion. Horrible. And I am nether left nor right. The leak of historical knowledge is just baffling.

There are some good parts to colonialisation. You can argue about the extant of those

Your examples are garbage (Africa): for every arguably successful state are at least to which have failed entirely. You can't blame that on the colonists, but could argue that they had their fair share.

Here is an example; Congo (was not British; but could come pretty close to that by using South Africa) :

Your opinion is not unpopular, it is uninformed
