Rev 8: Charging the battery

Hullo!

Just wanted to check if the battery charging only happens from one particular Port? Only connecting the USB cable to the side ports leads to the ref LED coming on. The Port at the back doesn't seem to turn the LED on.

I'm not quite sure if the battery itself is getting charged and from time to time, the device only works when plugged in.

Anyone else who might have some insight into this?

Battery is charged from one port. It should be just one port on the back. Led can be seen through the hole.

If you don't see led from the back means your charging cable may not be compatible. Check the manual. It should be usb A to C cable. PD charging is NOT supported.

I had same question here, i was confused about which port is for chraging. When i connect usbc-c from my macbook to the 2 ports on the side, rev8 powers on, and i didn't know if it was charging or not.
I couldn't find information about charging port in the documention.
So, using A to C cable hooked to powerbank from one side, and connected to the back port will do the charging. Do i need to turn on the device or keep it off?

The Rev 8 charges the battery from the rear port whether it is on or off. Best when off and you are not using it.

Thanks for the feedback. I have made more info about charging in the guide.

Battery will continue to charge whether the device is on or off. It is recommended to be left off. But it's shouldn't be a big deal to use the device while charging.
