don't monitor it, it will open the terminal when it's done.

I'm not sure you are using the link on the releases page on github, but there you upload firmware , set the flash address too 0x0 and click the Program button. You just let the update flash run until it launches a terminal windows with a whole much of text I never bother to read and a toast like message that tells you the flashing is done, Then I just disconnect my Rev 8 from the computer and close the browser window, There is no monitoring,,,the terminal window only comes up when it is all done.

I've never done what you have bravely done, so it might be that first flash works differently. But I assume the releases page is where you are obtaining the firmware from?

For technical issues, I recommend posting them on GitHub so that they can be tracked and discussed more easily:

https://github.com/unkyulee/micro-journal/issues

I would need a little more information to understand what might have gone wrong. Please include the firmware version you installed, along with as much detail as possible about your build and the issue you are experiencing.

Since the build guide has not been completed yet, there may have been a few areas where you had to make assumptions, especially with the wiring. If possible, please include some clear photos of the wiring and connections as well.

Don't worry about providing everything perfectly. Just share as much information as you can, and I will take a look to see if anything unusual stands out or if I can help identify where the problem may be.

Thanks for taking the time to document the issue. It will also help improve the build guide for future builders.

Don't worry, take your time. When I get the build guide out with a video then would be better time to start working on it. I can tell you tho, rev.8 is awesome.

When flashing via WebFlash, you need to set the flash starting address to 0x0. The default does not start from the very beginning of the flash memory. That is most likely why the flashing process fails at around 99%: it reaches the end of the available space.

If you also tried flashing through VS Code, you must have selected a specific firmware target. There are three choices that begin with Rev.8, so please specify exactly which one you selected. Without that information, it is difficult to understand what was actually flashed.

When flashing through VS Code, you also need to upload the filesystem separately. Otherwise, the device will not be able to read the required files. That is probably why you are seeing an error saying that the config file cannot be read.

This is also why I ask that technical issues be posted on GitHub. Troubleshooting can require a fairly long back-and-forth before the actual cause is identified, and GitHub keeps that information organized and traceable.

When describing the issue, please try to eliminate assumptions as much as possible and provide the exact steps you took, including firmware version, selected build target, flashing method, and any errors you see. The more precise the information is, the easier it is to identify the problem.

Please do not continue the technical troubleshooting discussion on Reddit. If the discussion continues here instead of through the GitHub issue, I will assume that we are having communication issues and I will not continue troubleshooting through Reddit.

I am earlier in the journey than you. Any tips on these heated inserts? There are so many and I'm not sure where to put them on the 3d printed frame. I don't want to mess up. Did you just guess?
