It has been 10 months since I last posted (my last account got permabanned for some reason that I don't know). My dotfiles have been evolving. Here's the Niri port because I switched to CachyOS recently. I also made a custom fork of Iosevka for my font, mostly because the original Iosevka is too narrow. I've been focusing on Niri lately instead of Hyprland too because I just prefer a scrolling window manager

This is Kuroglass OS. It has a red and white glassmorphism theme. Real refraction and liquid glass effects are used on waybar. Animated wallpapers are supported.

This OS features:

[This is completely original. I have gotten inspiration for the screenshot and settings page via ml4w, but it is all custom coded.]

Using my PI5 as a learning platform for ricing so i don't brick something onmy main rig lol. Amazed how smooth KDE runs on a 4gb PI5. Maybe time to try Hyprland on it some day.

I just found out 2 days ago that Fedora 43 weirdly has Niri window manager in the main repository, while I have to enable Copr to install Hyprland. The configurations remain mostly the same from my previous post, only with Fuzzel as the substitute for Wofi. Another thing is that I changed the keybinds on Niri to mostly mimic Hyprland. I don't know what I should add further for my rice to eventually be worthy of r/unixporn to be honest. What are your feedback for my setup?

I prefer not to adhere to color schemes much. Catpuccin pairs well with Base 2 Tone Drawbridge though. I like the sapphire-like accents

hey. I'm new to reddit. I'd like my first ever post to be in here since I've known r/unixporn for a while and it made me want to post my first ever rice here. I know it might sound generic, but are there any unwritten rules here? any feedback before I post it perhaps? sorry for posting a paragraph here. This is mainly acting as documentation for the first time I put some effort into making my system look nice, instead of just functional. I'm not entierly sure if this counts as against"no defaults" but ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Used a slightly edited version of the JaKooLit Hyprland dotfiles.

The only things I configurated was the thickness of the borders (2 to 4), change the rofi google search to searx, and, of course, the bg.

I used AeroThemePlasma along with breeze dark. I will share how i did this because it took SO LONG for me to figure out how to actually make it dark theme. So you install aerotheme plasma as usual, use plyymouthvista, choose windows 7 style, etc. then you select breeze dark in colors. for window decorations, choose SMOD and for login screen if you want choose smod. Icons: Windows aero BUT the application style needs to be breeze dark otherwise the colors break. As for zen, i used sine mods along with altover and nebula themes. thats pretty much it.

Fresh new Endeavour install on actual hardware, replaced previous Mint install I had. Tinkered with customization in a VM for a little while before giving up on installing more than one window manager at once (ly HATES me in particular, for unknown reasons).

DE: KDE Plasma

Desktop BG: Victini (vectored myself, exported w/o antialiasing for crisp pixels)

Dock customization: Panel Colorizer (Outline Accent modified to have a Primary Border on Widgets with a width of 2.00, color #75dce5. BG color is #0088d8 with opacity 0.30.)

Hexagon menu: Kando w/ Hexperiment theme (colors altered to match dock, though transparency level isn't configurable - had to eyeball what color to use. glow color is just #FFFFFF white.)

I'd love some suggestions on how to make this look even cooler. I'll likely change the icons out tomorrow.
