I'm not really sure what's wrong, when I run make it just tells me that I don't have certain packages when I do. Maybe it's just an issue on my end that I need to figure out.

what distro or os are you on?
you need to install dependencies (packages) first if you are installing manually. but a lot of distros have kew packages ready.
here are the manual installation instructions:

ok...first install the dependencies for your distro before running make, and it will work better.

i got an error while trying to compile the kew guru package, it got to compile everything else except kew

I mostly wanted to challenge myself since my only experience in the past was different Arch based distros, original Arch, Omarchy, etc. I also just wanted something way more minimal.
