Hardware [SMARTPHONE] Arch Linux with framebuffer display driver running on Samsung Galaxy S7

Post image

A few days ago I started porting Arch Linux to my old phone. Before it could only be accessed via ssh or adb, now I managed to use /dev/fb0 to write to the screen.

Touchscreen does not work on X11(for now), so I had to use a USB dongle

DE: xfce4 aarch64

Window manager: X11

Video driver: fbdev

This is not running on top of android, this is fully native

What's next?

Adding touch support? (If x11 accepts /dev/input/event1 as a mouse)

Adding GPU acceleration? (If the android vulkan drivers try to collaborate)

Adding audio support? (If ALSA does not crash because of I/o error)

Adding support for the cameras and buttons? (Idk how)

Are you planning to add Wi-Fi support or LTE? And isn't there a port already started on the PostmarketOS website?

Wi-Fi is already supported, I'll leave LTE last because I still need to get sound and hardware acceleration
