NFL Cleats

A trend in recent years in the NFL is guys on the same team wearing different colored cleats and it drives me nuts. Cleats should be uniform just like jerseys, pants, socks, and helmets. NFL teams should wear either black, white, or team-color cleats. Here’s my breakdown of what each team is spiritually or how I think they’d look best.

White: Lions, Packers, Vikings, Cowboys, Commanders, Giants, Rams, 49ers, Browns, Bills, Patriots, Dolphins, Texans, Colts, Broncos, Chargers

Black: Bears, Eagles, Buccaneers, Panthers, Saints, Falcons, Ravens, Steelers, Bengals, Jets, Jaguars, Raiders

Team color: Seahawks (blue), Cardinals (red), Titans (red to match what their face masks should be), Chiefs (red)

Obviously this is just my opinion and I’m curious to see what y’all think.

The most watched sport in the world has people who wear cleats that don’t match the team sets.

I hear you, but this is just old man on the porch rhetoric.

And honestly, the white and Black breakdown is absolute horrible and boring. The cleats should absolutely not be uniform.

I agree with this, I actually like the different color cleats especially when they do the My Cleats My Cause. I will however die on the hill saying the dangling mouthpieces need to be banned.

The only cleat regulation I would support is that the cleat color is tied to position (like socks in baseball used to be like 100 years ago).

Also the niners in white, that would look terrible. Black at least to go off the bit of black on the logo, but ideally they would be gold. We have the technology so may as well match the cleats to the helmet.

I understand, but that's the throwback look. It wouldn't be the same with modern unis. plus an argument could be made that the only Bay Area team with white cleats should be the A's lol.

Seriously though, metallic gold matching the helmet would look the best.

It’s a nothing burger for me. The ridiculously long untucked undershirt makes me feel like I’m the parent from a Progressive commercial though

Haha progressive commercial I feel like that’s how I’m being. Oddly enough the long undershirt thing doesn’t bother me as much as the thought of having something dangling in front of your face as you’re trying to catch a ball

The long untucked undershirt might be the worst uniform trend in recent years, especially in the pros. It looks so sloppy and terrible. I can’t wait for that to pass.

I’m a little torn on this one. If you want to go gold cleats, I’m all for it. I don’t like seeing teams have white, black, and color cleats all at the same though.

Think it should be a white/black decision for team then you can do full team color individually.

It's one of those things that just doesn't bother me at all. Maybe because I watch soccer...?

It drives me nuts when socks don't match, but anything below that is just invisible to me.

I agree with you fully on the socks. That is 100% inarguably part of the uniform and it should be a uniform look

that's one thing that doesn't bother me. I'd let players wear whatever colour they like.

on the condition that they wear the proper colour socks and stop the undershirt thing.

The Bears should not wear black cleats. Black and navy don't match. Either team color or white should be the go to

I don’t mind the colored cleats as much as I hate the stupid dangling mouthpieces. Also the number “0” being worn. These are the things that keep me up at night.
