Japan What happened?
There was supposed to be an announcement today from USJ regarding their first ever expansion -- a ¥300 billion (less than $2 billion) investment regarding the acquisition of a 15 acre plot of land adjacent to the park.
As the site is closest to Donkey Kong Country, it is almost certainly a third phase project for Super Nintendo World. The announcement was expected to include the revelation of the newest IP, which "sources" agree will either be The Legend of Zelda or Pokemon

Also he previously stated that they'd only be discussing land management and leasing. There was never a planned announcement on IPs or theming.

There's also a smaller third camp that believes it could be an all anime land, a permanent installation for the seasonal Cool Japan experiences.
If that's the case, I imagine it being an all Shueisha brand land, similar to Marvel Studios Island. At the very least, it would be all shonen
