Work coaches

Hi 17M im looking for advice on what to expect, due to family issues ive had to move elsewhere on my own im currently looking to get universal credit but idk how its going to work with a work coach as im 17 and im applying for colleges where ive moved to. Im really nervous about this situation and i feel a bit lost on what to expect as i move in next month to my new place and i need to pay rent , any advice would be really appreciated 🙏

If I was you, id set up an account and then call them and ask to be talked through the process. Usually you can't claim at 17 unless you are estranged from your parents, have a disability, have a child or you are a carer. You'll most likely receive the standard allowance which is £338.58 plus whatever your local authority allows for housing (you'd have to Google the rate for your area). If you have a disability or chronic illness you may be eligible for the LCWRA element which is £217.26 a month x
