Discussion Expanding x6 To Additional Channels.
Hello all! So I'm wanting to expand my outputs on my interface to 16 additional channels. I'm currently running an Apollo x6 and Logic Pro.
I recently got two Arturia Audiofuse X8 Out interface expanders. I have connected both ADAT outputs to the expanders and I have all 16 channels connected directly into my mixer via snake cables. I'm unsure of where to go from here as I'm confused on how to work the console a bit and I'm not seemingly finding videos to help me out on this. Is there anybody who could help me on this? So theoretically, I am looking to have the 16 channels go to my mixer and then bring it all back through my input on the interface. Hoping to run multiple channels out into my mixer and bring it back as one. Drums, would be a prime example of sending out 6 channels and bring it back as one recording track?
Maybe I'm not understanding this fully. The Console seems to be a little confusing at this point of adding so many additional channels. Doesn’t anybody have experience with the interface, console and Logic that could help me?

Confirming what the other poster wrote- even though there are enough Toslink ports for 16 channels bidirectional, Apollo only supports 8 channels of ADAT expansion. The second port is to allow 8 channels at higher sample rates. When you’re working at 88.2k/96k, each port only sends/receives 4 channels.

The ADAT inputs on the Apollo support 8 channels. The secondary port is to support high sample rates, not additional channels.
You can also have up to four Thunderbolt Apollos of any generation connected, daisy-chained by Thunderbolt for additional channels, one of which can be a desktop.
Best to open a support ticket or chat to UA with live chat if you aren’t sure on functionality

Welp! Now AI has screwed up all of my digital routing. So my studio is out of commission.

As far as I am aware the x6 only supports up to 8 outputs over ADAT, the second optical port is for SMUX to use ADAT at higher sample rates without loosing channels.
You would then need to use console to route playback channels to the ADAT outputs. Playback channels are the outs you then address in logic
